A naval dagger

dating: 19th Century provenance: Europe, Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section. Brass hilt decorated with embossed rocaille with bulb-shaped quillons. Hilt richly decorated in relief, featuring flowers surrounding a shield with an anchor between two letters. The pommel with the effigy of Neptune. The scabbard is smooth on the back and decorated en suite in bas-relief with the same monogram at the front side. Signs of use and time. Remains of ancient gilding. Two lugs. length 38 cm.
