20.5-cm velvet covered dial, engraved brass chapter ring with Roman chapters and full outer minute numerals, fine foliate pierced and engraved gilt hands, foliate pierced gilt spandrels, replaced movement with baluster pillars bearing the signature Balthazar Martinot A Paris , verge escapement and silk suspended pendulum, numbered countwheel striking on a surmounted bell, case with domed top with pierced ormolu rosette mounts surmounted by a deity, broken pediment with seated angels flanking a armorial shield, a pierced gallery with four finials to the sides, moulded cornice with further pierced ormolu mounts, garlands above the glazed door flanked by 'Diaspro di Sicilia' columns with composite capitals, pilasters to the sides flanking the arched glazed side panels, base with foliate pierced mounts flanking the lenticle, back panel with brass lined panels, the whole raised on a moulded later plinth, restorations
