A sapphire and diamond cocktail ring, c.1940, with a circular mixed cut sapphire, with a stated weight of 2.01ct, six claw set to the centre. A trefoil cluster of old European cut diamonds to each side, with a pair of open crescents, grain set with graduated eight cut diamonds and a further old European cut diamond, claw set in a plain collet to the top and bottom. Narrow split shoulders to a two row shank. Tested as approximately 18ct gold. Head 19.20mm wide, 8.89g. Finger size L Condition Report Sapphire bright and lively. Diamonds bright and lively. Settings secure. An indented natural to one of the small diamonds, only visible under 10X magnification.
